I have always been fascinated with storytelling in all of its different forms. Whether it’s the semi-autobiographical bizarro world of Kurt Vonnegut’s Slaughterhouse-Five or modern horror like The Troop, these stories suck you in and won’t let you go. Then there is film. I could watch movies all day long. I never tire of watching movies with beautiful cinematography and sparse dialogue like the Thin Red Line or black and white classics with tight and snappy banter like Casablanca or Duck Soup. And then there is the songwriter. I am in awe of some musicians and how they can combine melody and lyrics to leave a lasting, emotional impact and powerful connection in less than four minutes.
Now that I have children, I enjoy watching my ten-year-old daughter share the same interests. She’ll sketch out imaginative stories in her room on a notepad or spend hours reading at night when she should be sleeping. Proud Dad.
I have written in many different mediums over the years and have finally completed my first novel, Weeping Water. It’s a shame that it took me so long to discover the novel, I can’t explain why it took me so long, but I am glad I did. This novel has been the most satisfying writing project I have ever completed, and I barely finished it before I started on my second book. I enjoyed it that much!
I am excited to share Weeping Water with everyone, if you would like to support my efforts please pre-order your copy of Weeping Water here.
